revshag Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Hi Guys, I'm looking at building the Tamiya Jeep Grand Cherokee kit for someone. It's to be a replica of his 1:1 daily driver. It has factory running boards, and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to scratchbuild these. They're not tubular nerf bars, but the molded side steps. Any input would be great. Thanks, Chris
Foxer Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 I'd suggest a photo or two of what you're looking for and will get many more suggestions. I avoid Jeeps like the plague and have no idea what these look like.
diymirage Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 my first guess will be styrene there are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO very many different profiles of styrene available one of them is bound to be a good representation of the running boards you are looking for
