Well Guys i need some advice... I have recently noticed that one of the models that my dad left me is quite old and is still in the plastic, untouched... It is the Stone-Woods_cook world record holder "B" Gasser .. This kit has the olds engine as well as metal axles... Is this a kit that you just save and keep in the plastic or do you build it? The date on the box is 1963

Here is a pic...

More than likely it is the reissue from the late 90's judging from the way the shrink wrap is on the box.

the original issue was in a pretty heavy card board box and was a bit shorter ...

Give me a minute and I can post pics of the original and the reissue side by side...

Also on the box side where it lists features one side of the reissue will read 1995 and the other side will read 1963.

The original will read in the same area Litho in U.S.A. while the reissue will have the kit # 1287R0100

a tip of advice:

check the date on the instructions because the '95 reissue says '63 on the box, so chances are its a recent kit.

Right but he is asking if he should leave it untouched and he states its sealed so Im assuming he means to leave it factory sealed...

Yep.. One side says 1995 and the other side says 1963 lol... Looked at the wrong side first i guess heh... I also have a limited edition " Leaping Lorrie" that was built in the 90's.. i will look forward to building them... Had this been the real deal from the 60's I wouldn't touch it.. thanks for the advice.... Are these good kits to build or should i just leave them be?

Just do what your Dad would have done and you wont go wrong.

As far as good kit, with a bit of clean up they build into a great gasser...
