prostockmodeler Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Hey fellow modelers.. You read the thread title right. I am going to build a corvette space frame based off the zr1. I have some reference pics but I need some more. I was just wondering if anybody has any pictures of any sort. I am building this with put drive train for right now. I am short on a corvette kit. Being unemployed sucks... so i am going to build this out of all my spare styrene tubes and flat stock. this is going to be a ton of work. to say the least. below are some pics of what i am going to try to attempt. If anybody has a spare corvette motor, trans axle, and suspension to spare you would be a god and I would be forever grateful.. Any extra money i have right now goes to my 1 yr old son and my bills... thx all.. my first construction update should be in a few days.. I hope..
ismaelg Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Alan, I have pictures that can help you. Give me a few days to locate them. Thanks,

ismaelg Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Here are some. I know I have a few more but I can't find them now. Keep in mind this is a Z06, not a ZR1. but the chassis is pretty much the same for both. I'll keep searching for some more. Hope these help! Thanks,

Heres a few things that tell me it is, the mufflers, the early series lsx engine(possibly an ls1) the upper rear a-arms, and the skinny back disk brakes Also keep in mind that those are cutaway pictures, most of those holes will dissapear on a real frame your more brave that i though this is gonna be sweet when its done
prostockmodeler Posted September 4, 2009 Author Posted September 4, 2009 this will be an adventure.. i know some of the pictures are c5 era but i am just using them for the general idea..I really appreciate all the support. i am going to get my stuff straight and get organized and start laying out the plans..

ismaelg Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 prostockmodeler said: That's a '97-'98 LS1 C5. There are 2 fuel lines (input and return) in the left engine cover. But the C6 is an evolution of this hydroformed frame chassis. I don't have any spare Z06 drivetrains but I'll be on the lookout....... Thanks,
MrObsessive Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 (edited) I've got a bunch of pics on my Fotki page of a bare chassis C6 in its skeletal stage. If you click on the pic below, it'll take you there.......... HTH! Edited September 4, 2009 by MrObsessive

Al Maciejewski Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Hey, there, prostockmodeler- Just curious- do you ever plan to honor the trade you made with me? I sent you the sealed Pro Stock Camaro kit a year ago in exchange for your Comp Resins S-10 pro stock body, then never heard from you or received anything. You disappeared from the board until now. How about making this right, OK? Al
