Large scale kit or 1963 Frod Cougar II?

As a kid of 8 or 9 I remember building a large scale car kit. The problem is the type of car the kit was has eluded me forever. I remember the basic shape and the wheels being wire with knock off but that's about it. Until I saw Mr. Obsessive build I had very vague memories of what that kit was. Bills build has spured a memory of what that kit might have been. Do any of you life time builders over 40 possibly remember or know of a kit that was produced of the '63 Cougar II?

Lindberg made one and I think Testors did one also. They are ready available and cheap on e-bay. That's where I got mine.

Only 1/25 scale versions of the Cougar II were done that I know of-------first by IMC, then reissued by Testors in the '70's, and then in the '90s' by Lindberg, the reissue I did.

Do you mean a large scale kit or a LARGE scale kit? Could it have been Monogram's 1/8 scale Jaguar XKE? It had a beatiful set of wire wheels with knock off hubs. It's been around for a very long time.

So far Bill (thanks Bill) is the closest to my recolection, of what I can remember. Luke if you can find some box art that would be great, but I don't think it was 1/8 scale. That would have been huge from an 8-9yrs perspective. The colour purple has always been one of the out standing memories I've had of the kit, must have been molded in it.
