kawipower Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Hello everyone, I am new to this forum, but have been viewing peoples built models on this site as a guest for quite some time. I am really learning a lot from this site and I truly do enjoy this hobby. This is the first bike model that I have gotten the chance to build. It is a very rare tamiya model that was produced in 1983. The decals that came with the kit were in really bad shape and suffered from yellowing and they ripped very easily when I tried to apply them to the model. Like any tamiya model this kit went together well without any problems. The panels were airbrushed with testors red along with the engine and frame. I think that all of the parts had a total of three coats of gloss coat applied. I really wish that they would make more dirtbike kits because I especially enjoy building them. I hope you enjoy the pics
Sixties Sam Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Nice job on the bike! You're right - you don't see many dirt bike models around. I have an old Yamaha 250 DT-1 Enduro model from 1971, made by MiniCraft in 1/10 scale, I think. I've never seen another one since then! A motocross diorama with a couple of those CR's blasting up a hill would be cool! Sam
