curious if anyone knows when/if AMT is going to reissue the venerable '49 ford coupe and the goldmine '53 f100 kits? got to be two of my all-time favorite AMT kits. seems like they've done 2-3 shots of the '57 ford and the old '57 chevy (and lost the new tool?) since the '49 last graced hobby shop shelves. of course, it would be SO NICE if they happened to do them as the thrill show issue '49 multi-kit and the diamond in the rough set... hey, i can dream, can't i?

My 1st car was my G-ma's 1950 Ford Tudor w/overdrive, 2 dr sedan with a Ford installed sunshade over tha front window. I still have an AMT 49/50 90s reissue stashed around here somewhere.

The 53 Ford "double Flip" truck has what I call an appeasement date. Scheduled for 9/30, but this WILL change.

As far as the 49, yeah, I think dreaming would be the best. Otherwise we'll have to wait for the Revell kit.

DID YOU SAY... REVELL? i did not know they had one in the works. if it is of the same standard as the new '40.... i'll kick the AMT kit to the curb. if it has ANY vintage speed equipment.... excuse me while i drool.

62Rebel is looking for a '49 Ford. Crispy is talking about the all new '49 Merc that Revell is doing. Also, Rebel, are you talking about the '53 F-100 3n1 or the flip-nose street rod?

Perhaps i should have said repops? well; a new 49 merc is welcome also if it is up to the 40 benchmark. and i also should have specified the "trophy" 53 f100 or AMT version; the flipnose is an old MPC tool and uses the same generic street rod chassis as the 57 chevy sedan flipnose from MPC (a great start for a "black widow") and is not buildable as stock. it DOES have an excellent bed molding with wheel wells added for wide tires, and it does fit in place of the AMT part. personally, i've never been able to make the flipnose front look right. so it usually ends up in the parts box..... i suppose i'll stick with my trusty old AMT 49 ford then... in any of it's versions i can find!
