FujimiLover Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 One of my favorite car movies is No Man's Land. It stars D.B.Sweeney and Charlie Sheen. It is about a rookie cop who infiltrates a Porsche mechanics shop that has been accused of stealing Porsches. The best scene in the movie, is where Billy and Ted, yes that's their names, steal a silvery-blueish Porsche 911? They then get chased by the "competition" in a Cadillac and blue Chevy Camero. I'm guessing it's a Cadillac. Question is, what year is that silvery Porsche? And what's the color used? Also, what kit is there of that model?
gasman Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 A great place to info about Movie cars is IMCDB.ORG, taking a quick peak at the websites page for that movie there where alot of Porsche's in the movie.
FujimiLover Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 Thank you. I found the site and looked it up, but didn't give me much help. All it said was 911 (930). I did not see what year it was. That black slope-nose was pretty sweet too!
B_rad88 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 hey marc, the 911 type(930) was made between 1975 and 1989! here is some info about it! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_930 i hope that can help!
FujimiLover Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 Thanks' except Wikipedia isn't always accurate with it's information.
CAL Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 (edited) Porsche 930 AKA Porsche Turbo probably 81-86 there wasn't much difference between them. Since the slant nose hit 81 and the film was released in 87. Tamiya makes a kit The regular 930 might go back a little further. Tamiya Revell Proabably Fujimi. You shouldn't have and trouble finding a kit since that was probably the most publically visable and publicly noticed 911 ever. Edited September 29, 2009 by CAL
crispy Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I'm not well versed in Porsche, but after watching the clip on you-tube I was certain this kit would probably be what you are looking for. Fujimi's Porsche 930 Turbo Enthusiast kit. On the same note, Tamiya re-released a 1988 Porsche Turbo as a snap fit kit, that if time is taken and detailed it looks fantastic: Looking for the paint might be a bit tougher, but I bet a google search with the year of 87-88 might get you something. Good Luck! Chris
