Hello all, I am new to this forum. Found it while searching for tips on what I am building right now. I normally build armor and aircraft but on occasion do branch over to autos. My most recent project is a Pinks All Out style drag race dio. I have a prostock Chevelle I am gonna restore for the build and am trying to convert an old Johan SC/Rambler to a prostreet dragster. My biggest hurdle is the rearend. I have never done anything like this and need you guys help on exactly how to tub out the rear end and redo the rear axle. ANY AND ALL HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

99GT is totally solid with his advice.

Get the 66 Nova Pro Street and cut it up. It's not only real close wheelbase wise, but you get all those kit pieces which may help your other build as well.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forum, and I'll go with the flow here....the '66 Nova is the way to go. And if you get one and wanna trade the body for something, let me know! ;)

Bob.

Umm interesting idea. Thats the one thing that bothers me about buying a kit just to get the chassis out of it. What ya got to trade? May give me some incentive to buy one.

Hey Armorguy,

Buying kits just to get needed parts is a way of life for us car guys. Making molds of much needed and common parts and casting them is a way for us to overcome that problem. We have a fantastic aftermarket for us, but NOTHING like you armor and airplane guys have!!!! Contact Matt Conte on here, I'll bet he has something you could use vs. buying another kit.
