Terry Jessee Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 I think I've posted this before, but this is the Aoshima "Mad Max Interceptor." It's built pretty much out of the box. Weathering is done with an airbrush and the Rustall system. To get the sifted dirt to stick, I sprayed a little Floquil Flat Finish in select areas, let that dry, then rubbed in the dirt. It slid off the "shiny" parts and stuck to the flat. There are also "dust" washes using Testors flats and a little thinner. The basic finish is lacquer, so it wasn't affected by the enamel thinner. As long as we're posting Mad Max models.... Terry
george 53 Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Now that's the Max we know an love!!! Great job Terry, looks like the real deal!!!
Janne Herajärvi Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Weathering looks realistic, very nice!
RodneyBad Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Great work. The pics could pass as 1:1 Cool looking car. wish they'd reissue the stocker verison
george 53 Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Zuk, when I asked Stump(Greg Armour) about Max's ride, he told me that it was a MODIFIED car. NOT STOCK! The ENTIRE front end is an ADD on conversion. It was put on for the movie and was a pretty popular converrsion down there. I NEVER knew they had a stock version of this car. THAT would be COOL ta have!!!

I have this issue but they never did fit in the box right and have the smashed roof syndrome. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.
sak Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 (edited) Thats true, the madmax car was based on a Ford falcon, and I wish somebody did make one because they look awesome. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/comm...Ford_Falcon.jpg Has some styling of the 71 mustang and torino cobra. You can actually buy those fiberglass panels to create you're own madmax car. Even that fake hoodscoop. Providing you can get you're hands on a ford falcon. But back to the kit, you did an amazing job. One of my fav movie cars. Jeff Edited October 11, 2009 by sak
FUSIONBOY Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Very nice build! looks like Max and dog just stepped away for a minute. I agree with sak as to the beauty of these cars, I saw one in Minnesota and talked with the owner for a bit. very cool cars.
