Len Woodruff Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Anybody ever have any laser cut vinyl done? I am looking for some masks for painting the "roundals" on my Cobra Daytona. Any suggestions on cutting a perfect 7/8" circle?
MrObsessive Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 I don't know about laser cut vinyl Len, but if all else fails-----you could check here for white roundels for your Daytona.
monkeyclaw Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Len; I use laser cut vinyls all the time; I have a sign/graphics shop here locally that does them for me; and they work great for paint masks; but you really need them to be low-tack if you are using hot paint like lacquer or urethane bases. If you simply want the posative roundels; use mylar rather than vinyl; as it is much thinner; and buries well under clears....I hope this helps............matt
Len Woodruff Posted October 26, 2009 Author Posted October 26, 2009 (edited) Thanks Matt. That's what I needed. I was going to use them as paint masks w/ Lacquer paint. How do you tell if they are low tack? I already had the VRM decal sheet but the stripes don't fit well around the hood bump so got trashed. Edited October 26, 2009 by Len Woodruff
