Nick Winter Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 (edited) Well here it is, first is a bunch of reference of "suposedly" Bandit T/A's, all though some in my Pics are Fisher top cars not Hurst T-Top cars like they should be. Nick Winter Posted October 31, 2009 Author Posted October 31, 2009 (edited) nice! glad to see that your actually going to post it and finish it! keep up the awsome work! Well I was very hesitant and finally started back on it today after it sitting all week without me doing any modelling of any kind. Ok here's some more progress, this is still old progress though Started to put the engine together I tested out a decal, I think there terrible and I'm gonna wait for my Keith Marks Decals to show up. Painted and assembled most of my interior put together the chassis Edited November 20, 2009 by Dukefan69'
Nick Winter Posted October 31, 2009 Author Posted October 31, 2009 (edited) Now the new stuff I've done. Everytime I tryed painting it with gloss black, I screwed up, so I used flat instead and will just give it a couple coats of clear, to fix the glossyness problem I painted the steering wheel using some gold rattle can paint and flat black brush paint I did something similar with the wheels, I stripped the chrome and painted them gold, then hand painted the silver accents of the wheel. Finished up the radiator support and glued on my battery Edited November 20, 2009 by Dukefan69'
roadhawg Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Looking good so far! A word of advice on the Keith Marks decals..........they are much thinner than kit decals, and can be easy to tear or bunch up, so be careful! They DO look far superior to kit decals though. Interior looks good, but I was thinking the Bandit had a tan interior. I might be getting that confused with a couple of T/As I owned, though. Your reference pictures show both tan and black. Interesting. Anyway, keep up the good work. This one should be nice!
crispy Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Nick looks like you're a quick builder. Wish I had the time. Everything looks pretty good. If you'd like to give the dash a little more detail and if you have a craft store nearby I highly recommend some glitter for the turned dash. When I was working on a replica of my 79 Trans Am I purchased some hologram glitter. A little white glue spread into the areas you want and splash the glitter on, shake off the excess and viola, turned dash. If you would like I would certainly send you some, I'll never use the whole bottle. Just pm me your address. Keep the updates coming, I have a special place in my heart for 2nd gen Trans Am's, just ask Tommy! Chris
B_rad88 Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 wow, nick, that is lookin sweet! now i know what you ment by that comment you told me ! LOL!

I'm using reference straight from the movie, infact I've been watching it as a build this T/A. Well like I said some of those are replica's or just normal T/A's. I will. Modellpularn Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Sorry for being a bit nitpicky here, but you need to paint some black around the dash "insert". Only the flat portion should be silver, or "turned dash". But you might have already fixed it....? Coming along fine. Good thing to strip the chrome off the wheels.

I realized it after I painted it, still haven't fixed it yet though, thanks for the reminder. Thanks. the wheels turned out better than I thought.
