hellonwheelz3 Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Ok, I'm working on a 49 mercury and have looked over most of the parts in the kit. on the inside of the body, there are about 4 small circles that I want to buff out. I dont think they're supposed to be there. what would I use to remove these circles. I dont know whether to use fine grit sandpaper or that, and excuse me for not knowing what its called. Its dark red, almost clay in consistency and comes in a small tube. I've seen other guys do body work with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I dont mean to sound like an idiot, but I'm trying to learn as much as I can.
randx0 Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 body filler is what you were talkin' about . I'm not sure which 49 merc you are building (revell or amt)I will assume the revell as that has four small circles on the interior roof . for this I would use a hole punch (for paper) and make a few circles of sandpaper ,superglue one to the eraser of a pencil and gently spin it on the lines of those circles until they are not as noticable when you are happy with the results go over it lightly with some liquid glue and lightly sand one more time.also Mr.Obsessive has a very good tutorial on a similar kit showing the basics of solid model building. good luck hope this helps.
