Nick Winter Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Well I got this kit from Terror, I got a truck and he got a stock car, needless to say we were both happy, I got a built Junker from grimreaper for it's engine, and I deceided I wanted to paint it factory Apple Red, with a graphite interior. This truck is Apple red, but not a SLS This ones' a SLS but not Apple red

Terry Jessee Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 They build up mighty pretty. I really think that this kit and the Ford Explorer that was done at the same time are probably two of the best kits AMT ever did. The subject matter is kind of mundane, so they weren't really popular. But if you ever wanted to build one of AMT's real masterpieces, this kit is it. Beautifully done. Terry
JamesW Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 It's kinda ironic Nick, cuz I'm gonna be buying a 1:1 1994 Sonoma SLE Extended cab, paint, 2 tone apple red and gray.

I have both explorer kits too the '96 and '97, Thanks. It's kinda ironic Nick, cuz I'm gonna be buying a 1:1 1994 Sonoma SLE Extended cab, paint, 2 tone apple red and gray. No way that's too cool, but my interior is gray, not the body. Well here's my progress everythin's painted except, the topside of the body and top side of all the black parts and the interior platform thing on 1 side. There's a hint of the color The interior

Well it sat here for a month. I thought I didn't have enough red cars/ trucks (7), I'm gonna update Ya'll in a few minutes.
Nick Winter Posted November 11, 2009 Author Posted November 11, 2009 As you folks might know my camera is kinda messed up, it wouldn't even turn on for the last 2 days, so I got it Kinda Jerry Rigged to work, I took these this morning
Jordan White Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Here's a picture that is better representative of your build (minus the newer headlights of course): It should turn out great, except of course I don't really like those wheels at all. But that's just me!
Ron Hamilton Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 It took me forever to do this, due to a short attention span. I started on it when the kit first came out, and the truck was brand new, and just finished it earlier this year. I have an S10 twin to it somewhere inmy basement!! Nice kit though.

But that's just me! Yeah that's really close. Well I'm doing it stock, like it was just bought of of a GM used lot. It took me forever to do this, due to a short attention span. Guest Mustang3.8 Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Great work, 'cuz. The interior looks awesome.
GeeBee Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 (edited) I don't build too many American vehicles, but here's some shots of the AMT Chevy S-10 Pick up i built a few years ago, built out of the box with just a bit of BMF added, colour i used was actually Rover polynesian turquoise, which was as close as could get to the photo i had at the time Edited November 11, 2009 by GeeBee

Nick Winter Posted November 12, 2009 Author Posted November 12, 2009 well i weathered it up a bit, not on the body but underside and underhood. looks better in person
Nick Winter Posted November 16, 2009 Author Posted November 16, 2009 Well Nick, since everyone else is showing thiers,,, Looks pretty cool. Well my GMC is almost finished, my camera is still a little screwy though. I used a Gunk wash, and a rust wash and a dust/dirt wash and went over everything except the outside of the body, added the decals, clear coated it, and ran the tires through some limestone dust and sand I had, only thing that needs done is the hood being painted after it's fixed. Found some junk for it, like a toolbox and tools.
JamesW Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 (edited) Question Nick. Did the kit come with those seats and console? Those are the EXACT seats and console I need to correctly depict the interior of my truck. I know they are in the Blazer kit but couldn't remember if they were in the Sonoma and S-10 SS/LS kits.
