This is my first post and my first build in a long time. I decided to do a model of my first car. This kit was from fujimi, I switched the wheels with Jeep CJ wheels that more closely match the Samurai I had. The paint is automotive paint that is covered with a few layers of clear. I scratch built the brush guard, mud flaps and spare tire cover. Also I recreated the stripes from a scanned picture of the original Samurai.

Thats a terrific model!

Always nice to see someone replicate a vehicle they own, or owned, in scale.

these models always seem to have alot more put into them. and I like this.

Have never seen a model kit of this Samurai, and it looks great!

nice detail, the spare tire cover is really cool.

Have you thought about displaying the model on its top so it looks more natural? :o:D

LOL. Reminds me of the old song: "my Suzuki is really sturdy, as long as I don't go over 30." :D

Seriously, Jeepster25 - Great job on that Zuki, and the personalized touches/scratchbuilt bits make it very special indeed.

Thanks everyone! khart here is a picture of her on the side like many real Samurai's in the 80's! Also another picture of her topless. I don't like how the tires came out but I couldn't figure out how to do white letter tires that matched the ones I had, any suggestions?

Super build

I like the detailing. Wheels and tires look great, along with the decals.

I give you a thumbs up on this build ;)

It's nice to see somebody build one of these pretty well stock and not all chopped up or

being slammed into the weeds...

Nice work. I really like the color, what is it?

It's 1987 Suzuki Iceland Blue Metalic code 09R, I was able to get it in a 12 oz. spray can from Automotivetouchup. It's just a base coat paint so I used 3 coats of gloss clear over it. It did melt the plastic cup I sprayed it into first but the model didn't melt.

Shabo dry transfers, although I don't know if they make them in that style or not.

You might also try brushing on a light coat of Future floor polish over the decals that are on the tires now to help get rid of the "filmy" look.

Thanks! I'll try that.

Really nice job, and the detailing is top notch. The spare tire cover really adds to it. I remember a dealer who had a few on his lot, and one had a sign in the windshield that said "Ready to Roll". B):D:o
