Danno Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 This amazing airbrush paint job flew in from Honolulu, HI for last weekend's 12th Annual Southwest Nationals (GoodGuys Rod & Custom Assocn) Model Car Contest. It's Stan Pinho's '51 Mercury took "Best Paint" and was runner-up for the People's Choice Award. Congratulations, Stan! And, it was great to meet you and visit with you. Mahalo nui loa ~ come back and see us any time! PS: I've posted some more contest coverage pix under the Model Car Contests category, but that doesn't seem to get as much traffic as the "General" category.
Harry P. Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 The only thing missing is a guy on a surfboard...
MikeMc Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 The only thing missing is a guy on a surfboard... Harry......look in the curl....through the foam
Jon Cole Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 That is one of the BEST looking paint jobs I have ever seen on a model! It is just stunning! The "airbrushed mural" lives! And not a custom van in sight. To incorporate the wave and clouds in a wrap-around mural is an eyeball grabber!
tuffone20 Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 The only thing missing is a guy on a surfboard... Harry it's funny should say that, I talked to Stan at the show and he said he had thought about adding that when he painted it but thought it would be too much..... but it does have a surfboard as an air cleaner Marty
