wgflatliner Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Alright, as a side project, i'm working on collecting all of the Chevy Impalas from 58 to 67, both hard tops and rag tops. Question: who makes the best of each year impala model, and why? (it could be availability, mold quality, etc)
RJWood Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Hardtops '58, '59, '60- Revell '61- Lindberg '62, '63, '64, '65- Revell *'66 to be released soon. '67-AMT Convertables '59, '60- Revell '61- Lindberg '62-Revell Thats all I can think of, off the top. hope it helps.
Roadkill2525 Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 AMT make the '62 as a bubble top and convertible, Revell announced they're going to do a '62 hardtop.

RichCostello Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 But,remember,the '62 bubbletop isn't an Impala,it's a Bel Air.
wgflatliner Posted December 1, 2009 Author Posted December 1, 2009 For the '58,go with the AMT. The body is way better proportioned than the Revell's,plus the doors are opened. Revell's '58 was molded from a diecast kit and has a flat bulky look to it. it appears there are two different variations of the AMT 58. Is it the one with the blue impala picture, or the red? better yet do you have a link to the specific one you're speaking of?

Those are the same with diffrent box art, Also there's the AMT '63 Impala Hardtop.
disabled modeler Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Hey guys, amt did make a 62 impala ht....i think it was also able to be built as an altered or stock wheel base, the ht could be used or as convertible. i have the ht part, plan to use it on a 62 impala convertible kit to build the ht. i had the rest but it really was toast that no amount of butter in the world could help, but the top was fine.......i know it was from a very old kit because it came from my dads old stuff.......so i guess you might be able to add one more to chose from?.................mark
