arick Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 We've started a line of 8th scale wheels and tires. This sample photo shows you that the wheels are produced in three pieces to allow the builder to set the offset at the desired depth. Our first tread pattern is a flame design but other tread patterns will be offered. Our 8th scale Pro Street Chassis is also now abailable. The front clip can be purchased in three different widths and should work under all 8th scale bodies. The rear clip is available with a 9" style rear end or an 11" Pro Stock style rear end. We do not guarantee that the center section will fit under all interior tubs so you have the option of building your own center section. Pictures will be posted soon. You can find more information about these and other products at www.tdrcatalog.com.
jbwelda Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 a suggestion: accurate sand cast look halibrand spoke (8?) front wheels and also halibrand kidney bean wheels. vintage stuff that is sorely lacking in 1/8. i know the exterminator has spoke front wheels but they are kind of awkward looking (like all lindberg 1/8 if you ask me) and i think someone did kidney beans but im pretty sure you guys could do them better. just a humble suggestion.
arick Posted December 5, 2009 Author Posted December 5, 2009 Have a look at our site William, you'll see some Halibrand style wheels posted and there'll be more coming. As for the finish, our products do have a slightly sand cast finish.
DaytonaTim Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Here are some pictures of an actual tire-wheels setup that I worked up. It is hard to spot, but there is actually a slight bulge and flatspot on the tire to simulate an actual tire with weight on it. Also, I kept the seam where the two rim cylinders meet, toward the the backside of the assembly. I figured that is will be less likely to be seen there.
jbwelda Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 thanks rick, yeah the finish on your stuff is perfect for cast wheels. i will check the site too.
