disabled modeler Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 my brother and i have the reissue of the old rommels rod kit........his is now built however the decals have crinkled-up in the water and the ones that didnt wouldnt stick to the unpainted model.....just figured i let you all know....has anyone else had this problem with this kit? mark
Jon Cole Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 He can call Revell for replacement decals, IIRC. The contact info should be on the box or instructions. Are the flags part of the decal sheet? If you have a printer, you could get the image off the internet, and print it on paper, or even a return address label, and fold it around a metal rod.
disabled modeler Posted December 9, 2009 Author Posted December 9, 2009 Hi Spyder, Thanks for the info....i got on revells site and sent a message about it......i hope their all not like that? the decals make the model in a way. will have to see what happens now? thanks loads.mark
oldscool Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Not trying to sound smug or anything but I am building this kit right now and have used the dashboard decal without any problems. I have learned to leave the decals in water for only a few seconds before applying them and also use Microset and Microsol on them. Hope this may help you in the future.
disabled modeler Posted December 9, 2009 Author Posted December 9, 2009 Hi oldschool, the dashboard decal was the one that did work the best for us, the ones for the door went on ok but fell off after drying? dont understand why....ive never had a problem with any monogram decals before.....i didnt leave the first set in too long ,possibly 15/20 seconds......they seem very thin.....my brother had same problem with his? he also built the reissue of the taxi with no problems.....its got me stumped.
