Greg Cullinan Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 I am taking my time with this model.Trying to better my results.Did a little research since I don't think I've ever seen a 1/1 upclose before.Aiming for just a nice clean street rod. I spray canned two coats Duplicolor grey primer and two coats Duplicolor white primer.I had a purple Tamiya picked out for this and liked the white of the primer so much that I decided to go with white. So two more coats of spray can Duplicolor white gloss. I did the interior all black with a minimal amount of chrome trim(no pics yet). Using the kit wheels with the lettering done white with Hot Tires paint pen(a tip I picked up on MCM forums). Spray canned Alclad II over black gloss to some of the engine and undercarriage parts. This is what I have so far. Thanks
charlie8575 Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Looks good. Is that pen an auto-parts store item? Charlie Larkin
Greg Cullinan Posted December 11, 2009 Author Posted December 11, 2009 (edited) Charlie it is,although I ordered it from AutoBarn online instead of driving from auto store to auto store. Edited December 11, 2009 by ponyxpress
voljeepx Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Looks good, Greg! I'm glad you didn't decide to go with the box art and do yellow, that is fugly! I will be watching this one, an Impala like this was in my family some years ago.
Space Cowboy Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Love the look of that year of Chevy. Can hardly wait for more.
