jedimastergary Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Decided to leave Plymouth rusty with black front end like front salvaged from another car in wrecking yard if I do paint it it will be olive drab green camo think I have the front end fixed with idea just had going to make 2 axle mounts to lower from frome to where it needs to be at. My 53 ford pick up idea is most likely a no go missing all parts but cab and what is left of bed from attemp at flat bed build. migh savlage it into something not sure new classes start at college the 5thso time will be short again.
Blake Rogers Posted April 3, 2010 Author Posted April 3, 2010 well now i have some things to show you guys so you guys don't think i don't care any more about my tread that i started enjoy
jedimastergary Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Dang those are cool nice to bad I do not have anything to make one of those My buggy is almost done thought it was then found I left some parts off like gas cans,AxeShovel and I still want to make a hood so i can add a skull decal. Plymouth is on hold while I figure out few problems it has. Been scrounging up parts for my 1953 ford pickup/truck got cool idea and today was good day found some scrap model tree parts I wanted for build not sure what kind of motor it will get working on 2 frames so I can pick best one for it a stock frame and a 1955 Chevy pick up frame think chevy will be the one as it makes it sit higher. Hope it works out as planned plan is cool
Dr. Cranky Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Those Mad Maxx renderings are way cool!! Thanks for sharing them!
Blake Rogers Posted April 3, 2010 Author Posted April 3, 2010 i knew you guys would like them hence ya i started this build. working up were am now i get to see a lot of these trucks and it got me thinking. mostly the water tankers they used on the oil sands to keep the dust down. dude i think it would be pretty easy the hard part is finding a kit to use
jedimastergary Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 They are killer got anymore pics like those? Today I started work on my 1953c Ford idea so far decided to use 1955 chevy frame, rear axle front axle(for now) depends on wheels and tires have to decide what to do about no interior tub might try to use the Chevy one. Really want to get pics of this one as it is "KILLER" the look of the body. Hope to get a digital camera soon got a little spending money and after leaving some of my models behind when I moved 2 years ago I want to at least have photos in case it happens again when I move so I can rebuild them
Blake Rogers Posted April 5, 2010 Author Posted April 5, 2010 gray can't wait to see them. and brian you make a good point but i remember seeing a model/models of those heavy haulers as we call them up here some were just can't remember
jedimastergary Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I have a question does it have to start as a model or can we use other things? I have a cool idea for something I found today and if it is ok I will try to turn it into a vehicle for the build.
Blake Rogers Posted April 5, 2010 Author Posted April 5, 2010 gray there is only one RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!! there are none do what ever you want bud
jedimastergary Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Okwill toy with idea then next week end planing a trip out of town for weekend and going to visit a couple places that sell models will see what I can find for my secret build project. If I get camera will take pics of all but body of it and post them then in end I will unvail my body. Now I have to do some more research on my plans oh so many ideas for it how many will I be able to fit into build. Current builds a 1953 wrecker, and a stalled 1958 Plymouth currently a 6 wheeler with only 4 rear tires touching the ground front ones in air have to lower front axle
jedimastergary Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Well got bit of work done on my 1953 wrecker cut the 55 Chevy interior to fit it and trimmed firewall a bit to work in ford body, made grill, wicked bumper got horns on it and a roof light need tires and wheels, to make the old 1941 Plymouth 6 cylinder motor fit, add paint to frame build interior(seat, dash) build a exhaust, wrecker unit that is beat up and broken from use then put it together and it will be done. After watching Death Race got few ideas for how these things should look so after a trip this weekend to restock supplies and mabey find some kits at thrift stores will be on to building again.
