2008 Mustang

Hey, guys, I just started this 2008 Bullitt Mustang. It will be a mild custom. I cut the teardrop off a hood from my old parts box (1966 Ford Galaxie, I think), and stuck it on the Mustang. I filled in the rear side windows and put in "porthole" windows from a Carson top from a 50 Ford kit, a la 55-57 T-birds. It will have a chrome bar type grille, and maybe some different taillights. Paint will be Dupli-color orange mist on the sides and gloss black on the hood and top. everything else is pretty much stock. Here's a crummy mockup photo (bad lighting). Personal opinion alert!!........the portal window idea clashes heavily with the teardrop hood scoop idea you have. The two styles of customizing, while cool in their own way, are not playing well together on this build.

With that being said, I doo look forward to seeing more of this build.

I have never really liked teardrop hoods, but it does look kind of interesting on that Mustang. Are you gonna keep the stock engine or ... ?

Not a Mustang fan but around a lot of em...I agree with the whole porthole window thing, put somthin else there but the hood goes well.The real builitt or bullit Im not sure, anyway is green no spoiler.But yer build so build on my friend.

Thanks for the input, guys. I was thinking the portholes and teardrop hood were kind of like two different worlds, but I like them anyway. Personal taste, I guess. Here's a photo of the car that inspired this build. It has a hood scoop and the side windows are filled in. I just expanded these ideas with a bigger hood bulge and adding the portholes. I'm sticking with it since I just painted it this afternoon. No going back now!

Pete, I shouldn't have called it a Bullitt Mustang. I'm just using the Bullitt kit as a base for a custom. I bought it for the wheels when I built a replica of my son's real 2008 Mustang.
