The Creative Explorer Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Here's one finally to show. I got this one last year done just before the IPMS nationals and it won silver in it's class.
chris coller Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Very nice build. Where did you you get the rims/tires? Thinking they will look awesome on a build of mine.
crispy Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Nice work Erik! Love it. The Aoshima wheels look great . How'd you get the lines so narrow and clean? Chris
RodneyBad Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 That looks Perty COOL. Excellent Paint job.. Nice wheels and Great Photos.. Like a Pro.. Great work..
vizio93 Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Nice job man, I like the stripes on the top, and those wheels are amazing
janositamas Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Well, I have never thought of painting an R8 purple, but I have to admit it looks cool in that color combo, and very unique. Good choice on those rims also, they set it off!
The Creative Explorer Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 Thanks everybody! I am too pleased with the result with this one, although I still have complaints about my painting-skills, but I do hope to improve them. @Chris(coller): The wheels are like Chris Mentioned from Aoshima and I got 'em from HLJ.com.
B_rad88 Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 wow, that looks super clean and slick! cool! i love the look of that R8. and dude, honestly your paint job is alot, i meant ALOT better than mine(when i do get to build), lol
The Creative Explorer Posted January 6, 2010 Author Posted January 6, 2010 Nice work Erik! Love it. The Aoshima wheels look great . How'd you get the lines so narrow and clean? Chris Chris, I used Jammydog tape, the come in really thin tapes, I used them to mask a pattern and airbrushed a own mixed gunmetal on top of my own mixed egg-plant-ish color.
crispy Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Thanks Erik. I have to ask, how tacky is the stuff? Easy to work with? I've heard it mentioned before. I'm so used to using Tamiya tape but lately have been having issues with some of it. Chris
peter31a Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Great job Erik! Makes me want to go out and pick one of those up. Nice colour as a change from the usual silver.
