Ed Sexton From Revell Customer service has sent a message to Hobby Heaven regarding two threads including one started by me, about the issues regarding the plastic.

They would like to hear from Modelers and their problems.

Here is the text of the message thread at Hobby Heaven :

Listen up. Revell wants to solve the painting problems some are having and they need your help. I forwarded those two threads from a couple days ago to several people in charge and here’s their reply…

They need you to describe, in detail, exactly how the problem occurs. What preparation are you doing? What kind and color of paint? What conditions (temp, humidity, etc.) are you painting in? Was the paint warmed or was it at room temperature? These are the kind of details they need to know along with whatever additional information you can add. Anyone have any close-up clear pictures that show the problem? Or how ’bout sending them a painted body to analyze?

Please post your comments here where they will see them, and if you have a model or body to send them write me and I’ll give you the address to send it to.

This is your opportunity to “make a difference†so give it your best shot, and let’s keep it positive and constructive. Any even slightly snotty comments will be deleted.

Here’s the response I received from Ed this morning:

Tom,

We have investigated this plastic issue many times before and could not duplicate the problem here in our shop.

Please put on the message board that we would like to get to the bottom of this problem as much as our consumers. But we need more than unhelpful sarcastic comments which they like to use. We need good descriptive, useable comments that we can take back to the factory. If anyone is willing, they can send us their kit, where we can see the problem and we will replace the kit at NO cost to them.

We want to get to the bottom of this more than anyone.

Regards,

Ed Sexton

Maybe there will be an end to this issue pretty soon.

Please help out if you have had issues with the new revell plastic.
