Harold Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 (edited) Well, I finally got a car Saturday. Its a '96 Grand Prix SE, Arrest-me-red with charcoal interior. I paid $2,000 for it, and its in really really great shape. In about half an hour, I'll walk the three blocks to the Secretary of State's office and get 'er licensed. The thing's been sitting in my driveway 'cause I don't feel like getting the thing impounded for being an unlicensed car on nthe road. I'll have some pics up tomorrow Edited January 11, 2010 by Harold
george 53 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Congrats on the wheels,Harold. Nice one at that too. My son-in-law got the same model, year. Red on charcoal too. I think that musta been a REAL popular color combo that year, I've seen alot of them. He's havein some electrical problems right now, his Speedo,Tach, and Fuel gauges are out, I tell Joy NOT to take the kids out in it till he gets the gas gauge fixed, DON'T want her runnin outta gas with the kids in tha car!
Eshaver Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I'm glad it's you Harold . Me , that Pontiac has a lot I disliked as to repairing cars when I finially gave it up back in the early 1990's . Hummm, lets see, O2 sensors , Magnetic timing crank sensors , Heater cores nearly impossible to replace , water pumps you had to darn near take the motor out for , transmissioins that required almost daily or at least twice yearly maintence , yeah , been there , done that on my mothers 1999 Oldsmobile 88. ! Ed Shaver Hit the nail on the head there Ed. Except mine's a Dodge. Before the engine went, I needed O2 sensors (4 of the lil rascals) THEN, the timing went, which tore up the water pump, which is completely internal. Needless to say, my Intrepid is sitting in the garage with a cover on it til I can get the CRAPPY 2.7 pulled and replace it with a 3.5. Next to it is my 94 S-10, covered til I can get some work done. So, I have 2 cars in the garage now, one that won't go, and one that won't stop. LOL Now, thanks to a friend, I'm driving a 2003 Olds Alero GLS.

JamesW Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Very nice car you got there. Bet you can't wait til the snow is gone so you can get her out and run her through her paces.
Harold Posted January 13, 2010 Author Posted January 13, 2010 Very nice car you got there. Bet you can't wait til the snow is gone so you can get her out and run her through her paces. I got out and put about 40 miles on it Monday running errands, and even though its shod with Eagles, its a very good snow car. But yeah, I can't wait 'til the weather breaks and go for a nice long drive. All I need is a CD/MP3 player and it'll be perfect.
