Nice. I thought this kit was a curbside? Did you combine it with the 86 kit?

No I cut open the hood to allow for an engine.I couldn't take the poorly executed chassis pan. here is the engine bay(I need more detail here which is coming). 2010_0119Spock0011.jpg2010_0119Spock0012.jpg

I'm looking for a 1970 Monte now to make mine a little more "palletable." I'm guessing that's what you used for your underpinnings?

Nice execution.

Is that a corvette rear axle? ! I used the front and rear suspensions from an AMT '70 Corvette kit.The vette rear axle really jacked up the back!

Looks great for the kit it is! I used the chassis from the MPC (AMT re-issue) 'Class Act' 82 Monte Carlo for mine. (I will admit to buying the 70s Monte for the wheels and the 80s Monte for the CB750 Motorcycle kit!).

WEll ,as you can see from this photo, the kit-supplied chassis is pretty bad'overscale molded-in engine, poor front and rear suspension and diff as well as a molded in exhaust system. 2010_0119Spock0015.jpg

So I cut out the exhaust system and removed the front and rear suspension components. The process of removing the exhaust system left holes and damage to the floor boards so I patched then with sheet styrene and puttied the seams.I used fine brass wire bent into 2 "U"-shaped forms to represent reinforcement beading.I used the dual exhausts included in the Revell Black Widow kit.I used the big block .front suspension and rear diff from the AMT '70 Corvette. THe end -result is a much more accurate looking chassis. 2010_0119Spock0012.jpg
