Rick Schmidt Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Haven't been doin WIP lately but figured this wreck needs one so here goes Got a Fire Fighter Mustang from a friend the other day. I promptly got stupid and decided to make a street car lol. A fellow modeler online here found out about my crazy idea and instead of talking me out of it he sent me a Midnight Mustang built up to use as a fender donor ..... Decided to use the Midnight Mustang body as I found it was correct and put all the Fire Fighter parts in it. Poor Fire Fighter Had an idea today to repair the leading edges of the doors wreck the underhood structure and simulate that it is the wrecked parts car. Dunno tho Got the fender flares I need loose just gotta dunk em in the bath Think the idea might be heading towards an in progress car similar to this one. I dunno its just what this little wreck of a project seems to be saying to me. As many Mustangs as are floating around here this is my first II so I really have no other ideas for it Also got a set of the 4 spoke wheels from the 88 Daytona kit I may use on it (4 lug). Got a Small Block from the Revell 32 Sedan that with a bit of work should work nicely in the car. Note so far I had to modify the oil pan and may need to move the tranny crossmember back a bit. But hey it's all part of the fun of getting a stupid idea lol
Crusader101 Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Get a copy of the February issue of HotRod magazine..has a little feature on a guy who has 14 Mustang IIs.
James Flowers Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Looking forward to see what you end up with.
Nick Winter Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Rick looks interesting, I looked at one for sale this summer it was a '77 Mustang II coupe, special order BC car, one owner, 302, 4spd, 3:74 rear end, PS, PB, factory sunroof, $4300 with emaission test and safety included.
Abell82 Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 (edited) Make it a Stallion, or Mach 11 or Cobra or... just search for images of Mustang II's and build the one you like best. And by the way I've owned 5 of them. Edited January 28, 2010 by Abell82
ChrisPflug Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 I remember going on a tour of the Rouge plant as a kid and watching them assemble Mustang IIs Hacked the front suspension off a few while working at a speed shop a few years later..... Always felt cramped in the PintoMustang- even worse than a 70s Monza Has anyone built a set of the "Charlie's Angels" cars? sounds like an overlooked TV car subject
