935k3 Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) I am working on this one now. White paint is Krylon and green is Krylon Emerald Green. The white cutouts on the green side panels are for the number plate decal so it won't bleed the green underneath. Edited January 25, 2010 by 935k3
Nick F40 Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Man, I forgot you said you were building this next.....i'll definetly be watching.
935k3 Posted January 25, 2010 Author Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) That is cool, me too, I just ordered that kit. This is the second version I built of this kit. I suggest doing what I did if you do build it. I cut the rear deck loose so you can slide the chassis in through the back and then attach the rear deck so you do not have to spread the body over the chassis. There is a warning in the instructions that says it is very difficult to remove the body when it is on the chassis. Also you can extend the fender wells to fill out and meet the inside of the body. Do not put the front tires on until it is in. You also have to mount the door panels to the chassis and cut out the notches on the inside of the body so it all slides in easily. I also mounted the dashboard to the chassis. Allot more work but better than spreading and mounting a completed body only to notice something inside needed fixed. Edited January 25, 2010 by 935k3

Thanks I will have to remember all this. I have a street version and this exact rally kit. I was kind of hoping for the big flairs though.
CAL Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I got one of my Stratos HFs today. Dang. I can see why now this could be a trouble kit to build. The body cuts way under the chassis. Never seen anything quite like that before.
935k3 Posted February 1, 2010 Author Posted February 1, 2010 A few updates, I just have to decal the dash and the interior and chassis will be done.
weasel Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 progressing nicely!! i've got the '76 San Remo rally Stratos..
