Railfreak78 Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 I have done a lot of fine detail on this car that my phone will not capture and I have never spent this much time just under the hood. I will tell all when its under glass. I have not been on the bench in awhile so I apologize friends and hope you enjoy! opinions always welcome
dwc43 Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Nice from what I can tell from the pics. I've got a Bee and I found a resin pitch fork hood so I can do an R/T when I get to it. I know you can't change it now, but when you do a big block with manifolds on it, the wires go under and behind the manifolds. I don't think I ever seen that done correctly though. I found some nice angle boots that I want to try out and that should be perfect for this kind of job. Check 'em out. http://www.rbmotion.com/sparkboot.html http://www.rbmotion.com/distriboot.html http://www.rbmotion.com/sparks.html
Railfreak78 Posted January 30, 2010 Author Posted January 30, 2010 Thanks for the info on the wires. Those plugs and boots look really sweet! I made these ones out of wire and drilled out the distributer with a knife. I went by a pic I printed up on google of a sweet red Bee but I know it was not correct either.I wish my phone did better cause this is my first attempt of a highly detailed engine bay and my phone does not capture half of it. Heck the driver side wires look that way to go around the scratch built bracket for the throttle linkage spring. Next time i want those boots and plugs though for sure!!
dwc43 Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Anytime. I've just owned enough Mopar with almost every engine they made, so I can catch stuff like that. I used to work for them too. Now I just restore them and race them. And don't worry about the phone. I have a $500 camera and sent some realy crappy pics to a guy I was trading with the other day. I just never could get the lighting and zoom worked out to get a good clear pic, but he got the point in the end. And as far as details go, I need to remember to start adding the oil dipstick to my engines. Keep forgetting to do that.
Railfreak78 Posted January 30, 2010 Author Posted January 30, 2010 LOL@ dip stick me too!!! I made the stinking purge valve on the firewall and no dipstick lol.

LOl, I'll have to take your word on that one, I just can't make it out. But, here's two more that people miss a lot. The white porcelain ballast resistor that goes to the + side of the coil and the water control valve that goes in the heater hose or hoses depending on style on '68 and later cars.
ChrisPflug Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 (edited) Usually the "exposed" valve for the heater is only found with A/C cars so a lot of the models are correct whether it was overlooked or not Purge valve on the firewall? Edited January 30, 2010 by ChrisPflug
