Correct me if I am wrong, but when Dodge debuted the RamCharger (in 1974), it was based on the D-series truch running gear correct? Reason I am asking is because I have a RamCharger kit and was wanting to convert it back to 4x2 versus 4x4 and was thinking of using a later Dodge pick-up kit for a chassis donor (I would have to aquire said kit) and was wanting to know if they were indeed the same basic chassis. Thanks for the info (in advance).

As far as I know I believe they are style wise the same in design, The Ramcharger is 1/24th scale and the regular truck is 1/25th scale....With some mods. I don't see why it couldn't be done. The style of the chassis is correct for the swap but will need to be trimmed in places probably to fit good. The Ramcharger was based on a pickup chassis and most real 2WD had the same parts on them.

Yes, the Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth Trailduster were based on the D- and W-series pickups which were new for '72.

As Mark said, other than the 1/24th scale Monogram Ramcharger, I'm not aware of any others. You can adapt the front suspension from the MPC '71+ Dodge vans for a 2WD RC, but you'll still need a 1/25th scale RC to use as a base.

Thanks for the replies guys..........I was thinking (and the instruction sheet for the bass boat combo states) that the Revell RamCharger was 1/25th scale (kit# 7242). I see it is also a 1979, maybe 1980 by the grill (which is fine by me). If I can come up with a dead Warlock or LRE truck, I think I can have my donor. I am using the 440+6 out of the MPC 70' SuperBee kit (as one is going Hemi) and the wheels/tires from the new Challenger SRT8 (yes, I know the bolt pattern is different in the real vehicles, but 5x5 and 5x4&1/2 are not distinguishable in 1/25th scale), along with some of the interior pieces. Thanks again guys!

The Revell Ramcharger is the old Monogram Ramcharger and is 1/24th scale, so Revell fibbed on the scale. I believe it is an '80, too.

Very nice Zuk.......I will have to keep that in mind as I have several big-block K-Members laying around spare!

Also, thanks for the info on the scale discrepency..........it just changed my build direction (I think I will go with the new Hemi from the Magnum as they seem larger than 1/25th).
