Hi all,

Since I am as good with an airbrush as I am with a computer, or a relationship, I was wondering if anyone in England would be so kind and alclad a few parts for me?

I will, of course, compensate for all costs as well as make a healthy contribution to the pub budget.

I say England, because I think sending these abroad would just add hefty postage costs.

Any help is appreciated!

Cheers,

Christian

Do you have the Alcad? I have actually brush painted the Alclad over a black base and it was impossible to tell the difference from a spray job... Just don't "brush" it on. Lay it on heavy and let it flow out with the bristles. What are you trying to Alclad? I did a lot of wheels like this and people could not tell the difference. Try it on a couple of practice pieces and you'll see what I mean.

Oy, thanks for the hint! I want to use it on a set of bumpers and a grille for a 1/20 Nissan Cedric. Or is it a Gloria? Always wondered who came up with these names - for a car!

Btw, the parts are molded in black. Does one still have to coat them black before applying the alclad?

I've just used Alclad chrome for the first time, pretty impressed with the stuff, I've left them to dry out for a week, but I will probably leave them a little longer, as I've been told the paint takes a while to dry out, if this is true or not, I don't know.

I followed the advice and primered the bumpers first, followed by a few coats of gloss black cellulose, then a few coats of Alclad, sprayed on at around 20 psi, if you don't have any luck, I will do them for you, as I still have the door handles and boot handle to do on the Mini.
