Rat Fink Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Just a couple of pics I wanted to share with you guys. I'm an insurance appraiser and am in body shops all day long and I get to see some amazing products and cars all day long. This is a 30's Ford something (not up on cars older than the 50's) it's the shop owners car that was painted with a product called Mirrachrome. It's a process similar to powder coating except you don't bake it. It comes out chrome and then a tinted clear is sprayed over it to give it hue. You can spray plastic too.
Smart-Resins Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 I would have to say that looks like Chris Goodrishes car. Ya outa see this thing out in the sun!! Jody

You are correct Jody that is Chris's car. I have plans on doing a guitar body with that paint, but that's a bit further up the road.

Back then he told me it was almost a grand a quart! OUCH! LOL. Ill have to try to dig up the photos I have and post them! Jody
