mackinac359 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 I started this in mid January and finished a day or two ago. That's a long time for me. I started with an Italeri Peterbilt 378, a resin daycab wall from GW Trucks and cut down the frame for a short wheelbase single drive tractor. The idea is a California ag/farm truck. I used resin low-profile tires - I can't remember the resin caster I bought them from. They fit the PB wheels nicely and give a nice lowered look. I also removed 1/8th inch in height from the springs to further lower the chassis. Additional views and in-progress views are on my On The Workbench page on my site. Thanks for looking! Tim
Porky Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Hey Tim. Another Great Looking Truck. So a month is a long build, it takes me that long to figure out what I am gona build Another one to get started and about a year to finish one
Jim B Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Looks really nice. I like your details. What decal sheet is the PacLease logo on? I could use some for a build I have coming up. I'm planning a fleet truck, and they'd be perfect. Does anyone make Ryder Leasing decals? Again, great job.
mackinac359 Posted February 12, 2010 Author Posted February 12, 2010 The PacLease is on the north American decal sheet with several company names, hood trim decals, chassis details.
Old Albion Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Tim, Yet another great looking truck! You will be running out of space very soon and need to extend the extension on your house. Best regards Dave
disabled modeler Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Hi Jim.........Nice truck! Keep-up the great work
studioman3 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Looks good Tim, I'm always afraid to do one in white, but you can pull it off very well. Not a big fan of the low profile tires though, they look fake to me. Tim
Tony Bryan Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 What a great little project, you certainly can see the change in the ride height, what sort of trailer would you use for this?
Pete1980 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Oh yes I loved this build!!!!!My single axle seems to be bit long in the center, but you seemed to have it figured out.
Pete1980 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 The tires are perfect.Id say the strip of evergreen will become a cab part of some sort, thats my guess.
macs_rock Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Wow tim. One of these days you could post pics of a real truck and we might not notice the difference.
Spoo76 Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 I really like the look of those wheels with the tires. whats the diameter of the new tire? please post up if you or anyone else remember the caster or know of any others I'm looking to build a 1/20 dodge ram with an 10 lug conversion and those would be great if the size is right I know the lindberg 1/20 trucks measure to be about 2 1/4 inch diameter with the stock tires but that is a bit to big I also haven't been able to find Just the wheels and tires so I dont have to buy a whole kit
