This has the potential to look super retro-sweet!

Who cast the cab?

Tim

Tim, thats one of Daves (AITM)resin kits. got a lot of ideas on how to make it retro yet modern. (big pipes, long tanks, walk thru bunk ect) its a kw double bunk, sectioned and chopped, only 1 i liked that i felt matched the cab. black frame, fenders, champagne cab and bunk, ...60 series for power.(what u can c of it..lol) and a detailed interior...Scott

I picked that cab up earlier this year, but haven't figured out exactly what to do with it yet (or more accurately decided on which one of the dozens of ideas I have to use it on).

Looking forward to seeing what you do with this. I really like this style of GMC so I was very happy to see it show up at AITM, it is also one of the nicest cabs I've bought from him.

Someone makes a DD 6-71 diesel which would go well with this truck, I don't recall where I got mine but I think Sourkrouts sells one. Of course if you are going to do it as a modrnized custom you may be looking for something more substantial to power it.

I have one of these engines. One thing that you may not be aware of, the Revell Mickey Thompson Attempt 1 kit has a 4:71 GMC supercharger, if a guy wanted to do another variant, cutting two cylinders out of this engine and using the 4:71 from the Attempt One would enable you to do another vintage engine variant to build a series 630 from this cab , or for the Cannonball.

Thanks, the Attempt 1 looks kind of neat too.

Looks like a nice color combination for the truck.

Finnaly got a way to post all my pic's( i think.) go to link to check out build progress. more to come, not happy with paint, so i sanded reprimed, and waiting for better weather to paint. i'll have interior pic's today. also installed a 3408 cat, 13 spd, 3 spd aux. drive shafts, mocked up tanks and running boards, using pete tanks, waiting on full fenders and stacks yet..
