CheaterSlick Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 (edited) hey guys, just thought i should share this easy trick with you. If your looking for an antenna to put on to your car this is what you could do. if you play guitar then you could take a guitar string and you can cut it to fit your car then you use a pin vice to drill out a hole in the body for the string. then put a drop of super glue on the end of the string and put it in the hole you drilled and you get a realistic antenna. Thanks for looking, Alex Edited February 20, 2010 by CheaterSlick
torinobradley Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 But now you have a 5 string guitar... Actually, it's a great idea. I have guitar strings in my source box and use them for many things, including antennas. I also like to use the wrapped ones for armored brake lines and emergency brake cables. Other antenna options I have used in the past are music wire and stainless steel leader wire from the fishing dept. It's bright and shiny...
Eric Stone Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 I've also used a short piece of guitar string for a hood prop rod. I was lazy, and didn't bend it to shape, but I don't think it would be hard to bend it to the right shape as the 1:1 hood prop.
