this kit was from johan and i go tit when i was about 10 or 11 and then about 2yrs ago i rebuilt it into this !

for the engine bay its from a 66 amt fairlane , i hinged the hood , the headlights are doll eyes , and the motor is a small block 302 the i make in resin along with my crab i also repop ! Hope you all like !

David, thanks for post your builds. They kinda bring back High School memories.

When I was a freshman there was a senior named Oakland (first name) who had a Maverick that was bitchin'. It was black on black with Big-n-Little Mickeys on Torq thrust. and a sweet 302.

I saw him recently and asked him about that car. He said he was in the process of trying to repurchase it. I may print your pics to show him.

why do all these "comets" look like mavericks to me?

im no expert on american cars but ive been wondering that ever since some other guy posted photos of a "comet" with just a side view. i thought i was imagining things but this one makes it obvious...thats a comet?

When I first met my wife I have now she had a cool Maverick with a 302 in it.

Because they are basically the same car. Ford Maverick Mercury Comet. They had different grills and tail lights. From the side they look the same.

Very nice. I like the way it looks. The stance is dead on. Any shots of the chassis? Did you put the whole engine bay in the Comet from the Fairlane?

oh. i must have lost track of comets by that point, when i think of comets i think of mid 60s. i guess then later on the comet was a rebadged maverick?

Sweet ! Nice looking ride. That would sure take them 4 cyl. foreign tuner car owners by suprize.

What kind of paint did you use for the lighter shade of green? It looks really close to a factory color.
