ok, yeah, sorry harry about that, so i'm making this thread..........biggrin.gif

its a Porsche Topic, anything can be said as long as it deals with porsches! thats it!cool.gif

so, let me start off with that pic i posted, the "new" styling study 928..........

Porsche-928-Concept-1.jpg

so, whatcha guys think of it? like i said they should have made this instead of the panamera.

and oh, CAL..... i don't blame Dr. Porsche, TO MEtongue.gif porsche is supposed to be strickly a 2door....... car..... thats it. lol i think porsche went to "modern" with the cayenne and the panamera, thats 2 models they should have never built!blink.gif but don't get me wrong, i test drove a cayenne turbo, its nice, and the 4x4 is pretty good. and im sure porsche was thinking of the "family" man when they was building the panamera.

and please don't give me crud for this........ if harry wants the other thread to stay just on the 918 concept, so i made this based on all porschesbiggrin.gif...... and if you don't like porsches.... then please don't postwink.gif . us porsche fans don't want to hear a bunch of hate mail laugh.gifcool.gif

what about the 959 now thats a porsche!!!! cool.gif

yeah, thats a good fav of mine. there was alot of new technology that was built into the 959 when they made it. but you can see the base 911 body in it, its just heavily modified. they also did a few rally cars and le-mans/gt-1 (i think gt-1) race cars. the le-mans race cars i beleave its know as the 961. also there is a tamiya (i think) kit of the rally 959.

Well it was built for Group B ralley but it was banned befor it could race.

It raced Dakar and did well. Finished 1st and 2nd a third non-entered support 959 finished 6th.

Could be, it (the LM) was built to extend it's running at Le Mans into the 90s some 20 years after it was first built.

they said a coupe, I think the rules are going to change soon to all coupes and no open cars at all.

They wont come back until they can compete for an overall, so as long as the diesels continue to dominate - they are supposed to be fixing that, though also.

That is why the Factory never ran the RS Spyders.

Of course the 917/30 was insane.

It won every race it finished. It didn't finish 2 races at the start of the season. I don't know what single car was ever so dominant!

Holds the world record closed circut speed record

It did. That record has been broken twice, unfortunately by Mercedes C11/IV and then the OLDS Aerotech.

Any 917 is a favorite of mine. I have 20+ kits in 1/24th! Waiting for a 917PA. Any Porsche Racecar up to mid 90s is a favorite of mine. I am getting older and the new stuff doesn't seem to be so shiny to me! Any Tuner street car is good, too!

It held it for thirty years then. B)

Mark Donohue was interviewed on his dominate car and asked, so you must have the perfect race car, Mark replied, "We not quite, the perfect race could spin the wheels all the way around the race track at any place at any time. The 917/30 could almost do that."

the 917 was a very strong race car from the start. i personaly like the 917k short tail, the iconic red one that steve mcqueen drove, and also the gulf racing colors one too. and also can't forget the famous "pink pig" 917/20. lol!

all right. I keep it on topic of both Porsches and Fantasy cars.

I have plans (in my head) to make a fictitious autobahn polizei car from a Porsche 959. All I have is the wheels mocked up. they are the spares from the enthusiast kits.

I started with this Fujimi Lexus wheel:

& smoothed out the sides:

Assembled Wheel:

AWESOME IDEA! you know i've got enough of these em kits to make up a set of 4 wheels, and I always like the way the steelie looked, never popped in my head that I could do something like that...

oh and here is my 911 model..
