Hi Jaffa,

Most people tend to ignore or bypass Airfix' car kits because they are the smaller 1/32 scale. They are missing out on some pretty good models, especially the later issues - for example, the TR4A, which has excellent detailing throughout.

The Airfix 1/32 cars do not come with chrome plated pieces, but with the advent of Alclad II Chrome, it no longer matters.

The Capri seems a bit chunky, but isn't too bad. The Escort is decently done. The TR4A is the best of the three.

Hope that helps,

I built 2 of the Capri from the MPC issue, and have an unbuilt of the Triumph

also from MPC.

The Capri is Euro Spec and Not US even though it was in an MPC box!!

I use to have 2 of the VW Beetle and I believe a 1910 or so Rolls Royce

Sure wish they would re-issue those, and let MPC box them here again!!

The MPC kits had Chrome!!! Even the Gulf Porsche 917!! (had 2 of that one too)

I Do like 1/32.

I'm not keen on Airfix 1:32 cars, built two recently and despite my careful attention to detail neither are a good fit. I had some issues with the fit of the floorpan to the body on both occasions.

It's been a few years since I've built any of these 1:32nd Airfix models, my first ever car model was the Airfix Vauxhall Viva, some of the other Airfix kits are worth a few pounds, the Morris Marina and Bond Bug go for silly money on eBay ....
