edward smith Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Really stunning piece of work, your paintjob is absolutely flawless down to the way you even did your panel lines which is not easy to accomplish when painting a model white. You know, I see a number of modelers adding numerous details to their models, to me, a clean and professionally painted model is much better to admire.
shucky Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Marcos this is really coming along great. Nice work! I've been looking into trying embossing powder for carpet, do you have any tips on the process? I found some embossing powder that actually "puffs" up when a lil heat is applied. Stuff looks interesting for sure. Keep up the great work!

Stuff looks interesting for sure. Keep up the great work! Thanks! You use the embossing powders in the same manner you do your flocking, by using Elmers white glue or paint, it's up to you. I do water down the glue just a bit, it somehow makes it easier for the powder to stick better.
cruz Posted April 10, 2010 Author Posted April 10, 2010 Interior is done, added some seat belts with P/E buckles and ignition key w/ key chain. Decals really make it look pretty good!! Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
PITTSBURGH412 Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 looks real! ...................... hand me the keys
edward smith Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Amazing work, I see the embossing powder works better than the flocking which I think it's always out of scale, Think about this, if you were to make this car 25 times bigger, it would have a shaggy, 1970sh kind of carpet look to it had you decided to use the flocking. Additionally, if you look at the carpeting in real cars, they are not "hairy". Great job!
cruz Posted April 11, 2010 Author Posted April 11, 2010 Thanks guys!! A bit more work on engine details, still have to place some hoses and wires that I added in their correct place but their is a lot of potential to making this engine really stand out!! cotto Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Awesome Cruz, how much more to go? Doesn't look like a lot more. I like how busy that engine bay looks, you have really done a fantastic job on an already nicely designed kit.

Thanks Jay, don't have much more to go, last night, I joined the body to the chassis and finished installing the tires. As usual with these Revell kits, the tires were not centered exactly in the middle of the wheel wells, I really hate that, don't remember the last time this part of the build made sense on any of my Revell kits. I will be installing the front and rear bumpers tonight and finish up with the rear view mirrors and other little details, I am hoping to have this one ready for the NNL East!!! Dr. Cranky Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 WOW, fabulous, buddy. Amazing wiring on that engine. And the chassis painting is super realistic. Great job. Keep it going.
Alyn Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 What a georgous build. paint, interior, chassis, engine... You've swept every category with perfect 10's. I could stare at the interior and engine for hours, and the exterior is beautiful. Don't know how much better to put it; your's should be the box art.
meaneyme Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 I was looking in Google, under images and found out that there was a review of this kit with it's build by Bill Coulter and Len Carsner a few month's back and let me tell you, with all due respect to these guys, your build is definitely more impressive, you should have done the review for this thing. Below is the actual link to that build which I thought was great specially at the time it came out which was a little before the actual model was available. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://s3i.dotphoto.com/i168DF416-65EF-45B0-A815-C1B3C2AC2CA9.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php%3Fshowtopic%3D24910&usg=__7zbKvLaKPPNr8hkvZaurR-Zrjx8=&h=360&w=480&sz=38&hl=en&start=49&sig2=ZHbl8fKIxB_mAT9wnNP22w&itbs=1&tbnid=Iyi4DYBtPkEkCM:&tbnh=97&tbnw=129&prev=/images%3Fq%3D1972%2Bhurst%2Bolds%26start%3D42%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26gbv%3D2%26ndsp%3D21%26tbs%3Disch:1&ei=8a_ES478J9fisAbyxfz-DQ Can't wait to see this thing finished, attention to detail is very good on this one.

Thanks brother but believe me, these guys were just doing a quick build of this thing, I am not on that level, that's why they were chosen to do the build on that publication. Thanks anyway, I read that when it first came out and it's also one of the reasons I decided to build mine, they did a terrific job on theirs.
