Johan Eldorado Rancher GC3300

Always wondered why Johan did not update it's annual boxart for 1975 & 1976 Eldorado "Rancher" glue kit...using the 1974 on box top ('75'76 Snapper Eldo boxart could have been used? )

gets a bit confusing when you have 3 sealed GC-3300 boxes &.... want to keep them sealed

Remember getting 1976 Eldos boxed in 1974 boxes back then...but never got a 1974!!!...could any of the 3 sealed I 1974's? Any hints on box that would suggest modelyear of the content

Hi Paul....I wish I could tell you,but I cant. when I was a kid I built mostly Johan kits because they were my favorites and still are. I had almost every kit they made back then but just cant remember the Eldorado much. Its too bad they didn't at least ink stamp the boxes to the model year for you. I still have a few Johan models myself and really enjoyed their different models that they produced. Shame there gone now.

I owned 6 of them in the past,and when I opened those kits up when brand new,It always had a 1976 Eldorado in the box,I had 2 modeled in tan,2 Yellow,and the very last 2 I bought in 1991,They were molded in white,so if you have a white one,it is the last release of the kit,also look for BAR Codes on the box,If they have those they are from 91' If not,late 70's to late 80's,Some of the early issues of the kit could be White though,but without the bar code on the box.............Hope This helps,Steve Ketterer

I actually have a '74 Eldorado. And a '74 Johan Rancher box.

Also have 1 open '74 (molded in white) & 2 '76 (molded in blue/yellow) in Rancher GC-3300 box too, but can not see any diferrences on the boxes, these are pre mid 80's (before barcode)....(Barcode rancher boxes of 80's are surely '76's).

...The 3 sealed ones I have are pre barcode: 70's-early 80's...what's in?.....mystery
