I know, I know this has been covered to death but after looking at the threads on how to post pictures on here, i'm stil stumped.

My camera is the old floppy disk type so i'm unable to use the USB setup. I have an account with Fotki and lots of pics in the "my pictures" area of my computer but i'm not sure how to post them here? I'll admit, i'm not very computer literate so please bear with me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Do you mean your camera has a SIM card, or does it actually use floppy disks?

In any case, with the pics on your computer, follow these steps.

When you're logged in to Fotki:

1) Click "Photo Albums" on the left side of the screen

2) Click "add photos" under the album of your choice.

3) Next screen click "fotki java uploader"

4) Under the "folders" tab, find the folder with your pics

5) under the "folder content" tab, click on the locations to find your pics and then click on "add to list", or add all if you want to upload all in that folder.

6) click "start upload" in lower right corner.

7) click "return to album" in popup

8) click on picture in album, click "share", click "more sharing options", then copy "code for forums" into the box here.

Hope that helps!

C'mon now, it's not that old! I have the latest gerble high speed wheel powering it!

Aha! Now I see what was wrong. I didn't realize that all the pictures I had posted on here a long time ago, were still stored here taking up all my available space. I cleaned out all the old pics and now I can simply hit "browse" and choose pics from "My Pictures".

It's a start!

Hey Spyder, i've followed your tutorial and i'm not getting the pics to show?

I go to my Fotki (logged in) click on a picture, chose "share", click one time on the link below the picture and them come back here, type in control v but nothing shows up?

I am typing the img with the brackets before and after the control v but it didn't show up in the paragraph above this post.

try this:

When you're logged into MCM forum:

1) from the upper right corner of the page, click the pull down arrow and click, My Gallery

2) Then click "New Album", the buttons on the right

3) follow the directions, then click, "Create Album"

4) Identify this new album that you created

5) click the pull down options on the right titled, "Select an operation"

6) Choose "New Image"

7) click "return to album" in popup

8) Fill in the boxes as described and follow the directions and click, "Choose File". This will allow you to upload images from your computer, click, "Submit Image"

9) You will get to the image page. Click the "Image Link:" option to get the code. Copy this code with key command or with File pull down option on your computer.

10) Go to the thread and reply post by clicking the image icon for, "Insert Image". There you will be propted to paste the image code into the box that appears.

Hope this helped. . .

When I click the drop down menu, next to my name, in the upper right corner, the words "my gallery" are not listed? There's "my settings" and "my messages" along with a couple others but no "my gallery"?

Well you have to follow the instructions. I can see by what you posted that you (apparently) didn't type in the bracketed URL's each end as I showed.

Brackets are these symbols [ ]

In those brackets, on the left you type... img

On the right you type... /img

In between them, you PASTE the URL you copied before by RIGHT CLICKING on url you found by opening the "SHARE IMAGE" box.

Also, never leave any blank spaces from the first bracket, through the url, to the very last bracket! NO BLANK SPACES!

So it looks like this... Received_08_10_2009105453-vi.jpg

You posted this...

[photo id=swdgddfqwtrdrsfxbwqqgrksrwgk type=vi style=1 align=no link=photo]

You will know you have the correct URL if it starts with... http, and ends with... jpg

I know it is difficult when you are new to it. Hang in there, with practice you will get it.

Mmmm... room is spinning... time for bed... must leave now...

Hey Jon, I did type it exactly as you specified. I may have accidently added a space thoug, i'll have to try again. I did type the brackets and everything you show in your post though.

Ok, trying your way again. I click "share" and then it goes to the next page but the phrase "more sharing options" is not listed. The only things it says are, "edit photos properties", "share photo", "add comment", "hotlink this image" and "close".

I did find the "image for forums" by choosing "hotlink this image". I copied it and tried to add it to the post and nothing happened?

ben..."control V" is the same as using your mouse to paste......is that the hangup?

I have tried it both ways. I am getting the link to copy and then I come back here, come to this thread, choose "add reply" and then type (in the main text area) the bracket then img then the second bracket I then paste the link, then type the bracket, forward slash img the bracket.

I then hit "add reply" and the link I pasted shows up but not as a picture?
