Evening, I just bought a photo etched 68 Camaro set I have never used one before I would like to paint the Z/28 emblems & also bought a resin grill so she will have the RS package with the hidden headlights & since the 67-68 did not have the Z/28 on the grill but had the RS emblems I would like to paint them.

I guess what I would like to know is how I go about painting them? (I don't even know what photo etched is!) & also any tips on putting them on? or how I prep them really anything anyone can tell me would be great I really need the help.

I have been away from building for a while and am amazed at what is out there so any help would be great!

Thank you!

First off, photo etch is metal. Second, when it comes to adding color to it, I use the fine tip color sharpies. You can get them in all kinds of colors and they work very well.

Most photo etched parts are made out of Stainless steel. This can be polished to a chrome like shine with metal polish. If you plan to paint any of it clean the parts with denatured alcohol to remove the photo resist residue.

To attach emblems and the like to a body use a little clear fingernail polish, it doesn't take much. you may want to experiment with some unused bits out of your kit to get the technique down.
