I am new here and some poeple seem to think I am not telling the truth that I build what I make.

Ok so heres some inprogress pitures like I was asked to show so as you all might beleive me that I am the biulder. Not any one else. Does every one have to proof that they are the builder's here? I am really good compared to my freinds and I even won at contests. They dont even use airbrushs like me and I can hand paint to. I have a profesional Paashee H model with 3 diferent cone tips and I know how to use them corectly.

And to prove i know how I made this: I did that trick by wipping the seats with oil from my face from my fingers I read abuot. The black is spray can Krylon flat black and I detailed the gages with dry-brushing. I made seat belts out of masking tape and shet plastic I painted black with testor black chome trim brush paint.

Here is the RoadRunner Engine 318 c.i. of performence power. I wire’d it with wire from a eletrec motor insides. I even paint’d the fillter stickar on by hand. I used wash on the chome and air filtar. I made the duel exazst from tubbing and old glaspak mufflars. The rear tires are from a 1972 Chevy Pickup Stepside and I hand paint’d the letter’s. I paint’d the eingine bay part white to go withe the body colors

Looks great so far, and it really only was Dave that was doubting your skills, so don't worry about it too much.

A few tips for you:

1) Take your time taking pictures. I assume you have a digital camera, so take several pictures at different distances until you get a picture that's in focus.

2) Use some sort of spell checker. Mozilla Firefox has one built in, otherwise you could type your response in Word, check it, then paste it in here.

i don't doubt that you have "skillz" but i still stand by my opinion that the two builds you posted yesterday were not built by you

an example here is how what you posted yesterday and what you are posting now don't look like they are built by the same person. interesting too how yesterday your pictures were clear and very well done, but the pictures in this post of this project are blurry and poorly focused.

your spelling and grammar "skillz"?

Dave

I agree his spelling needs to be worked on, but I don't see what points you towards a completed model he posted, and a few WIP pics being different. Blurry vs. clear pics, I've posted pics that are both clear and blurry. It just depends on whether one takes multiple pics or not.

It is a SONY MAVICA digital.

It is a SONY MAVICA digital.

Depending on model, there is either a knob or button where you can change the mode. I would assume that there is an AUTO mode which is what you would want it set on.

Got to chime in Dave ! So his grammar or whatever is not so correct ! Gosh, alot of things I read on here are not all that correct and even some of the builds are not all that great, but the people who respond are at least kind enough to say otherwise (must be the ones who are in the incrowd) Maybe Jimmy is not as fortunate as you when it comes to education but at least he is trying. I just can not figure this out. How can you tell from a picture and bad grammar who built it and who did not? Read my post on the Ventura. Maybe by reading this post and the other, you can tell me what I had for breakfast this morning !! Its just model car building....not rocket science or as far as that goes...an English class !! Help someone out....do'nt putem down !! oops, there might be an error here somewhere !!! "Why can'nt we all....just....get along ?" ;)

That makes sence because Im taking a picture of a car. That is a joke! Get it?

Thre is not a AUTO button or swich. Just litning bolt - focus - program - display, bottons. I even took out the batterie but it still won't work like before. I can't take a picturre of it to show you. That is anuther joke by the way. ;) Thanks.

I'm sorry, but that just sounds funny read aloud.

OK, kidding done...time to be helpful. You said:

I did a quick Google search for 'Sony Mavica,' and turned up an online review of the MVC-FD200; here's a little bit of the text that might be helpful, even if that's not the exact model your dad lets you use:

There are two switches directly below the LCD. The one one on the left is the aforementioned LCD backlight switch. The next one is for changing between Playback, Still, and Movie mode.

The four buttons below that are for:

*Flash

*Focus (Macro, 0.5, 1.0, 3.0, 7.0 m, infinity)

*Program AE (Twilight mode, Twilight plus mode, landscape mode, panfocus mode, spot metering)

*Display - turns info on the LCD on/off

I think I messed-up the Focus it is wright next to the Flasher botton and we can all see the fucos is not what it was before. My camera does'nt have Program AE so i did'nt push it. I will test with the Focus. THANX! I will be back with better picture's soon if it doe'snt keep rainig! Oh yeh, he said its mine to keep now but I should figure it out myself. ;):D:D;);)

When you push the focus button a few times, look for this symbol:

Macro.jpg

That's the 'macro' setting when it pops up. You should hear little humming/motor sounds while the camera is in the macro mode, and a tripod will help greatly to get better pics as well. Try to keep the camera back a bit from the subject, and use the zoom to get in closer...your pics will all be blurry if you creep right up with the camera itself.

If all else fails, see if dad has a manual for the camera...or if you can find one online to download.

i never said anything about Jimmy's education either. the guy can't spell for anything, there is no doubt about that at this point. it's up to Jimmy to recognize that fact and do something about it.

Dave

Dave, I really don't want to "take sides" here... but I find it ironic that a guy who apparently doesn't know that a sentence begins with a capital letter is pointing out someone else's spelling errors.

Glass houses and all that, you know? ;)

;) Ok, Mr. Harry I went back and "fixed" my mistake. You want me to write it over and over on the chalkboard?

Dave

No, that won't be necessary.

I'm just saying that you should be sure that your own posts are written correctly before you criticize someone else's English "skillz." Makes sense, doesn't it?

Not that you didn't have a valid point... but you sort of shot yourself in the foot there...

Posted

If you can spell correctly, then you can also capitalize correctly. In fact, it's a whole lot easier to remember that a sentence begins with a capital letter than it is to spell every word correctly. It doesn't matter if your "rambling online about plastic models" or composing your Master's thesis–either you're doing it right or you're not.

Either way, it makes no real difference to me. I'm neither the grammar nor the spelling police. I was just pointing out that I found it odd that you would be criticizing someone else's mistakes when your own posts had mistakes in them!

I mean, first you publicly accused the kid of lying, basically... with no real proof, just a hunch on your part? That alone seemed strange to me. Then when you also decided to jump on him for his lack of spelling skills, well, I figured maybe I should point out the irony in that.

Like I said, I'm not taking sides or picking a fight. But if you're going to be critical of someone else for mistakes they make, you probably should be sure you're not making similar mistakes yourself.
