Daniel Peterson Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Another great meeting today, with some really cool surprises on the contest table. Click here for the rest.
Daniel Peterson Posted April 4, 2010 Author Posted April 4, 2010 THIS is cool. Who is responsible ? Craig Turner is to blame for this gem. He did a bunch of research, scratchbuilt a boatload of parts and ended up with one of the most fascinating drag models I've seen in ages.
PatRedmond Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I thought it was familiar. He's based it on this....
Lyle Willits Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 (edited) I thought it was familiar. Here's Craig's info from another forum: that's the old Lindberg 4 banger dragster. It has a LOT more "stuff" in it than the rather simple kit supplied! I had more fun building that little think than any other kit for a looong time! The decals were made especially for it and a couple Bob Dudek turnings really helped to get the look just right! RMCM front photoetched wheels were used as well! This was an actual car that ran back in the early 60's. (well..it's a model of the car...) It had a model B 4 banger that had 220 cubic inches and ran over 107 MPH at the 1960 Nats !! That was a record in the X/D class and stood til the Tempest 4 cylinder engines came along! Edited April 5, 2010 by Lyle Willits
