The basis, a crappy pajero.

First, tear it apart!

The so called 'engine', not suitable for post-apoc lifestyle!

Old Buick Fireball 8, more suited to low-tech post-apoc.

Does it fit? No, but it will!

wild looks like it will be one great Apocolyptic

vehicle when done will be watching this build.

just saw Death Race last night so got few new

ideas of what these vehicles should look like.

and now I see this one makes me think about a

new idea for my scout that I built a few years

ago and was modifying to this style.

That truck didn't look to bad minus the molded engine area. It will be cool to see though and I hope you have as much fun on this venture as us in the Apoc Thread have.

The model engineering is terrible and the detail (example: engine) also sucks which is why it is cheap so I had no qualms about bashing it! Nothing is finalized yet but I am thinking along the lines of a .50 Browning on a ring mount and some more chopping and added 'armour' panels.

(I am only doing this for something to do while the paint on the 'El Camino' cures!)

Roger that, 1/18. I have a 1/24 jeep (plastic) that I was going to scavenge for odds-n-ends but could not find a suitable vehicle in 1/24 to build.

Spent time on the inter-web getting interior and undercarriage pics. Managed, I think, to re-engineer the body to allow easier construction by cutting out the bottoms of the doors and making them one piece (like they should have been from the start!). The engine and radiator will fit with a bit of lengthening.

Now to search out some pics of the Buick engine.

See, I told you it would fit!

Now, I don't want anyone asking how they managed to get the clutch and transmission and transfercase all mated because I have no idea. Sometimes you just have to take things on faith!

Away for a week so no posts for a while.

Well I finally managed to get some 'work' done today. Put in a firewall and a bit of detail added to the engine bay.

I am adding some spring/shocks in the cut-outs. There will be a stiffener that arcs over the engine between the towers so no hood.

A bigger hammer could solve those problems

Engine is looking great.

Nice Firewall.

Had to go to the dentist today so not much done. Added some 'iron' and the shock towers. Hope to get the shocks made and mounted tomorrow.

Shocks put together and ready to install (after paint) and some more work done on the front-end.

Also, threw some primer and paint around!

Thanks, Gary and Blake, just enough detail to make it interesting to do (and look at) without going too crazy! I got the shocks painted and installed today and sprayed some more 'rust' around.

I was able to get back to this for a bit. Detailed a rad and some of the front armour and supports.
