rronning84 Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Here are the latest pics of the Americanized W900 Australia. I am waiting on a lot of custom stuff including a headache rack and some other goodies. If you notice most of the chrome pieces are from the Revell Snap KW as I think they are better quality. The rest came from the parts box. Still needs plumbed but thats about it. Now I need a trailer for it. I am thinking a lowboy or a chip van.
mackinac359 Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 That looks good. The headache rack will cover the daycab plug. Tim Here are the latest pics of the Americanized W900 Australia. highway Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I agree with Tim, a headache rack would look good. I have a mold of this one if it would help: I modified it from the headache rack in Can Do's spare parts and is also in the Peterbilt 359 from Revell AG. I added to the back of the original to make it thicker: Also if you add a headache rack of any style, I would choose the lowboy, especially since you have the beacons on the mirrors.

Do you sell those or is it just a spare for you. I have not committed to a rack yet
Jim B Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Ryan, nice looking KW. Looks good as a daycab. Yes, I agree, a low-bow would look good behind it. Matthew, nice rack!
highway Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Thanks Tim. Do you sell those or is it just a spare for you. I have not committed to a rack yet No, I don't sell them, I just mainly tinker with molding truck parts I may have a use for. I still have the mold for it, I could make one for you. It only a one piece mold, so the back will need sanding flat, but I have that and the deck step that runs the length of the rack and is about an inch (real, not scale ) wide.

falcongeorge Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I have never owned one of the Revell tool KW's (hey, what can I say, I'm old school!) But seeing this thread has made me think about getting one.

rronning84 Posted April 22, 2010 Author Posted April 22, 2010 Yay I have a Rack coming for the truck. Anyone know what is the best lowboy kit. I am not a scratch builder.
highway Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Yay I have a Rack coming for the truck. Anyone know what is the best lowboy kit. I am not a scratch builder. I've seen a few ultra expensive resin kits from KFS (I think), but the only ones I know of is the heavy duty trailer from Revell AG or the AMT lowboy. I have never had the Revell kit, but I've had many of the AMTs, and the AMT builds up nicely.

rronning84 Posted April 23, 2010 Author Posted April 23, 2010 Thanks for the link. I think I will do that.
Jim B Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 No problem. Now, you kow the rules: good luck, have fun, post pics!
