Desert Scale Classic 6 - In the Books!

Huge thanks to all who participated, attended, entered, and just plain contributed to a great time!!

We had over 300 models from AZ, CA, MO, NM, TX, and PR. A good vendor swap (33 tables) with lots of plastic changing hands. Lots of door prizes and raffle prizes. A great barbeque. Well deserved awards. And a great time seeing old friends, meeting new friends, drooling over the jaw-dropping models, and just plain chewing the fat with a whole lot of great modelers! It was a rousing success and we had a great time hosting such a fun day.

Peoples Choice (Best of the Host Club Members' Builds) - Jeff Alderman:

Just a note about the Peoples' Choice balloting at Desert Scale Classic: DSC is presented by the Cactus Car Modelers club; we do not allow our members to compete in the critically-judged competition, so we devised a 2-N-1 approach to the event. Our guests compete against one another in the critically judged contest and our host-club members display their models in a peoples choice contest where the winners are selected by balloting of the competitors and spectators. That way, we're not judging our guests against ourselves and yet we get an outlet for our competitive juices, too!

Great stuff and thanks for the links! I am working on one for my pics but my comp does not like the idea I have to see whats wrong. Fantastic show and great times! My hat is off to EVERYONE involved and this being my 1st big event like this It will not be my last! Way to go guys!
