Errrr...you tub it.

It depends a bit on the type of car. The method would be entirely different depending on whether it's a unibody or a body on frame car. It also depends on which level of detail you would like to replicate. A good idea would be to browse the 'workbench' section here and study the various methods employed by other builders.

Because I like to tub anything and everything, I purchased a number of pro-street and pro-stock/race models, and then I use the chassis, or parts thereof, the engines and the seats for any of my regular cars and pickups, along with the wheels, tires and rear axles.

On some pickups, I take a screw-on cap, for instance, from a Lawry's Garlic Powder container, sand-off the threads and voila, instant tubs inside the bed.

Sometimes, the original chassis that comes with the car works better if you just cut-off the rear section, and graft-on the tubbed unit from a tubbed/race chassis.
