larman Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Just finished this Monogram '69 Super Bee. It is painted Tamiya TS-20 met.green and has a black painted top, which is a somewhat rare factory option. The paint was supposed to replicate the factory F6 bright green metallic, but it is much too dark. I also wanted to put the factory steel wheels on, but could not find a correct set in 1/24th, so on went the American Racing Daisies from an old Monogram '57 Chevy. The model has a resin bench seat with scratch built seat belts, radiator and heater hoses, plug wires, flocked carpeting and the rest is just foil and detail painting. All in all, this went together well, and I am glad it is finished. Thanks for looking. -Larman
High octane Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 larman, Your '69 1/2 Super Bee looks great and hopefully will inspire me to finish the one I had started last year.
KENNEDYJR Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 That's a real sharp build. Those wheels really set it off.
camaroman Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 LOVIN' them redlines and daisys... screams Hot Wheels to me! I really like this build. Great job!
jedimastergary Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Nice one now I want to finish the one I got just need to repaint the body and get the tires out of my parts box the kit ones are no good 1 is not round has a point on it and add the rollbar from a 70 super bee so it has the street race look
Guest Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Awesome Bee! Very nice work, and the color really isnt that far off. What primer did you shoot it over? White may have lightened it a bit. Great job!
