impcon Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 I have a real soft spot for the old screw chassis annual kits and I have started trying to replace the ones that I had in the past as well as acquire some that I just happen to like. I am not really concerned about resale value of the actual dollar value of the kit as I just like what I like - because I like it. I know that I can not replace everything that I have had in the two collections that I lost, but I'm gonna give it my best shot. So what old annuals ( even newer ones that post date the scrw chassis kits ) would you really like to find at a price that you can afford or are comfortable paying? Below is a list of some that I am watching for: 1958 Ford hardtop and convertible 1959 Ford hardtop and convertible 1958-60 Edsel hardtops and convertibles 1960 mercury hardtop and convertible 1959 Pontiac hardtop and convertible 1963 pontiac hardtop and convertible 1960 Dodge hardtop 1963 Chevy Impala Craftsman molded in light brown - almost a butterscotch colour 1962 Impala hardtop and convertible 1960 Ford convertible 1967 Chevy Impala SS 427 convertible 1966 Dodge Monaco HT and a host of others... I try to make a game out of it all and see what I can buy at a price that I am happy with and if I don't get this one - then there will be another one sooner or later. So what do you think????
charlie8575 Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 The two I've given priority to are the 1960 Comet and Corvair. Beyond that, I'm interested in almost any of them. I like the cars of that vintage. Charlie Larkin

High octane Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 impcon, I just picked up a beautiful MINT '60 Ford Sunliner a couple of months ago. I was shopping for a friend of mine in the Denver area and have since shipped the kit out there. I do know of someone who has a '60 Ford Sunliner kit that has had the paint stripped and I believe that it's for sale. Send me a PM if you're interested and I'll give you the guys e-mail addy.
The Modeling Hermit Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I do love them too. I've got everything pretty well covered, but once-in-awhile I'll discover something that I didn't know about.
