Brokentail58 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 I thought this one was finished a while back but changed my mind. I didn't like the wheels and the lack of plug wires. I also forgot to make an engine mount. I bought some white wall slicks and a wired dist. online and made an engine mount plate. I still have to finish the wires but it should be ready for the weekend. The engine is an overhead valve caddy. The chassis is a shortened Amt Cuda digger. The front end and the chute came off the Hippie Hemi.
Brokentail58 Posted May 13, 2010 Author Posted May 13, 2010 I forgot to mention that the rear wheels are from the MPC Ice Cream truck.
Brokentail58 Posted May 15, 2010 Author Posted May 15, 2010 Thank you for the compliments. I tried to enter it in a model contest today. I drove two hours to the car show and was then informed that they decided not to have the model contest.
Brokentail58 Posted May 17, 2010 Author Posted May 17, 2010 I have three weeks until the "Sins of Steel " show in Davisburg, Mi. I want to add a little more detail to the dragster. I was thinking of running a fuel line and pluming it to the carbs. I need a good pic of what it would look like. If any one has any good pics let me know.
Brokentail58 Posted May 31, 2010 Author Posted May 31, 2010 I decided to add a little more detail to the motor. It is now plumbed with braided fuel lines. I made a fuel rail to feed the three carbs. I even made a fuel pressure gauge from a small bead and a decal from a Mini cooper kit I just got.
AMT Pacemakers Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Looking even better!! May I suggest a small detail? Some plug wire looms would really look good. Robert
oldcars Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 I have a couple of old rails that I have been looking for whitewall slicks for. If you don't mind telling me, whose tires are those? Thanks.... P.S. One fine job you did. Your model is why I'm in the mood to build one. Richard
Smart-Resins Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Oh man. That is totally awesome build. Period perfect rail. Man the wheels really make it with that silver. I just cant say enough about this one!
